Perdue Farms appointed a leader of value-added products to helm the company's vast grain trading business, the company said Monday.
Perry Aulie will take over as president of Perdue AgriBusiness on July 1, according to a statement. He replaces Scott Fredericksen, who is retiring.
Aulie, who has been with Perdue Agribusiness since 2019, is currently senior vice president of the company's value-added business. The segment has tripled its sales over the past four years as grain giants see growing demand for more nutritional products and look to profit from opportunities in the biofuel sector.
“Perry's leadership and vision have been instrumental in driving the growth of our Value-Added Business,” Kevin McAdams, CEO of Perdue Farms, said in a statement. “His dedication to our farmers and innovative spirit align perfectly with our vision, and we are confident that he will continue to lead Perdue AgriBusiness to new heights.”
Perdue highlighted Aulie's approach to addressing climate challenges in food production, noting he launched partnerships to pay growers to sequester carbon and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
In a LinkedIn post, Fredericksen, who has led Perdue AgriBusiness since 2019, said that Aulie's appointment places the unit "in excellent hands."
"The future looks bright for Perdue AgriBusiness, and I am excited to see the continued growth and innovation that lie ahead," Fredericksen said.
